Pope John Paul II Catholic School

Mission Statement
With Christ as our cornerstone, and the Catholic faith as our foundation, Pope John Paul II Catholic School educates the whole person.

Philosophy
Pope John Paul II School is formed through the consolidated efforts of the area Catholic churches. Partnering with families and parishes, it shares the responsibility of educating the whole person by developing academic excellence and spiritual growth in a faith-centered community. Our school educates in a multi-aged learning environment. Differentiated instruction is used to meet the needs of our students.

Goals

  • to provide an educational environment of mutual respect in a Christ-centered atmosphere
  • to recognize that one of the primary responsibilities of those involved in the school is the Faith Formation education of each student
  • to instill in each student a desire to learn
  • to teach students to recognize and respect individual differences
  • to engage students' families in the educational and spiritual development of their children

The Definition of a Multi-ged Learning Environment:
In a multi-aged learning environment you will see...

*Mixed age groups

*Developmentally directed instruction: based not on a child's chronological age but on his/her academic level

*Leveled instruction in Reading and math that provides students of all ability levels a challenging curriculum-from students struggling to learn to those ready for greater challenges

*Curriculum planning that is designed around students' academic needs,  interests and abilities, and learning styles

*A curriculum that meets or exceeds national standards over time

We believe John Paul II School integrates faith and knowledge in the personal formation of out students as life long learners and Christians.
